There is going to be a slight change coming up. This will be the last 3 Stars blog post on this website. It will migrate to new site…and a new project. The official announcement will be coming later today. Keep checking the social media outlets for the big news!
So, now for the going away edition of The 3 Stars Blog!
The Number 3 Star: The Lily Dippers – Only My Bones
This song has all the earmarks tones of the American Southwest, reflecting the band’s hometown of *checks notes* Vancouver??? “Only My Bones” is the fifth release from their upcoming debut album. According to their profile one Viberate, “Their music reflects the complexity of the human condition and refers to common experiences like love, sorrow, and self-discovery. The Lily Dippers have established themselves as a mainstay in the Canadian rock music scene with their explosive shows and unmistakable talent.”
The Number 2 Star: Kate Pierson – Evil Love
We hadn’t heard from Kate since the Guitars and Microphones release nine years ago. At 76, Pierson still has it. This feel-good song about revenge sounds like it could be the opening song to a Bond film. This is the first single from the forthcoming Radio and Rainbows album, which is scheduled to drop on September 20.
The Number 1 Star: Fat Dog – Running
Oh…my…GAWD! The shot of sonic adrenaline can get anyone going. It’s one of those songs at you hope that there’s a 20-minute mix of because you just want it to keep going. The first thing I did when I found this song was play it back with the 1984 Tones on Tails song, “Go!” They both have a similar feel and they pair so well together. While this song saw it’s first light in April, you’ll have to wait almost a month for the full-length album, WOOF to hit the shelves.
