My six years in Bloomington were a sort of high water mark. I met people who still play a significant role in my life. I also discovered tons of music and saw some fantastic live shows. It was also the last time that I felt surrounded by people in the same stage of life I was. We were young, figuring it out, and embraced the life we all chose to live.

The soundtrack to my first novel, Radio Radio, differs from the one for Postgraduate. Some of these songs are referenced in the book. Others were songs that inspired the story. I tend to write my books like a screenplay, and these are songs I hear in my head as if this was a movie. Some

I have described Postgraduate as “a mixtape disguised as a novel” and “my love letter to ’80s and ’90s alternative music.” I am a music head. I don’t think that anyone would disagree with that. And like most people who are of a certain age, I’ve fallen into a groove of music from my salad
